5//52 (Endicott-Johnson Pagoda)

Endicott-Johnson Corporation was the major employer in Broome County (NY, USA) in the early 20th century. Their shoe factories were located throughout Binghamton, Endicott, and Johnson City. E-J employees used scrap materials to build this pagoda, which housed the water pump for one of the larger factory sites in Johnson City. A couple years ago, the pagoda was moved down the street to C. Fred Johnson Park. The factory buildings have been demolished and the brownfield site has been developed into a regional Gannett newspaper publishing facility and a Wal-Mart.
