062 - bud

In December I took a photo of a branch that had come off our orchid plant. Check this out--it's got a bud on it!

This is a sure sign that spring will come again...although I hope not TOO soon...I'm still holding out hope for a significant snowstorm!

As I was driving home, I was listening to a CD of some of my favorite songs. One lyric in particular caught my attention, and I had a perfect image in mind that included magnetic poetry spelling out the lyric. Then I got home and started pawing through my words, and one of the ones I needed was not there. Boo.

So I started alphabetizing my words instead.

In November, a Mexican restaurant opened in our town. I think we've visited Las Chicas Taqueria more often than we've visited all of the other Owego restaurants combined since then.

The inside of the restaurant is a total riot of color--this is just a glimpse!

Matt's pinhole camera photos inspired me to play around a little more with the pinhole attachment for my camera. Other than changing this to black and white, this photo is straight out of the camera. I need to play around with the attachment some day when it's still light outside!

Also, I think I may have some dead pixels...uh-oh...time to start saving for a new camera!

Eric and I went to the library in Ithaca today. It's got a pretty good selection of photography books and an enormous collection of graphic novels. Eric also appreciates their great CD collection. We ended up with a giant stack of stuff, all of which we can return here in Owego when we're finished.

One of the great things about living in Owego and working at the library in Binghamton--I've got library cards for two different library systems!

Libraries are awesome.

I LOVE THE SNOW. Some of my co-workers blame me every time it snows 'cause I get so excited about it. One of them asked me why I love it so much, and I had to think a minute.

I decided that the reason that I love snow is because it's the closest that this world has to magic.

This is the view from our front porch after I got home from work this evening. It's awesome.
