365:303 - Laundry Self-Portrait

Yup, you guessed it: another evening at the laundromat.

365:302 - Eric's Hand

Eric had a sneezing fit, and I thought it'd be funny to catch a photo of him sneezing. Alas, I was too slow, and since he was watching a World Series game, he wasn't about to do any tricks for me. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Taken during our photo class at the Roberson Museum. One of the teachers was having us practice using different settings on the camera.

365:299 - Leaves in the Pond

Matt and I went for a photo walk at Otsiningo Park, and the pond was very calm, allowing for some great reflections.

365:297 - Ethnic Festival

While I was at the library table at the Ethnic Festival today, I snapped a couple of shots of people in the traditional clothes of their cultures. Because I was technically working, but more because I am a chicken, I operated in stealth mode and only took a few frames. I need to work on being braver about asking people if I can take their picture.

This was one of those days where I really wished I didn't have to go to work because I wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather.

365:294 - Broken Walkway

Eric and I both had a day off of work...at the same time...in the middle of the week...and the weather was gorgeous! We went for a walk at Wolfe Park. It's a lovely park, really...it's just in need of some TLC.

The only pictures I took this day were three terrible self-portraits, so this is all you get. I apologize.

So much for the snowstorm they predicted for this weekend! Today was a beautiful sunny day.

An [accidental] attempt at panning. Although I need a lot of practice with this technique, I was pleasantly surprised at the result.

365:288 - Snow on the Windshield

It was snowing when I left work, so I tried to take some shots when I had to stop at a stoplight. You can't really tell, but there is snow on the windshield of the car!

Arrival of the Red Worms

So, my camera has been on the fritz lately, but cooperated long enough for me to get a few shots of the newly arrived red worms. In just a few months, these worms will transform ordinary fruit/veggie scraps into primo compost.

365:284 - Autumn Leaves

I was asked to lead a photo workshop for a women's retreat at Sky Lake, and after giving them a few tips on composition, we took a walk to get some pictures of the fall beauty at the Lake. This was my favorite from the ones I took. I love the colors of fall.

365:283 - Stuart

Here's Eric's uncle Stuart with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

365:282 - Paul's Grandfather

Paul's Grandfather is the name of a musical group that we went to see at Binghamton University. We had seen them once before (at Spool MFG), and we really enjoy their music. They have fantastic voices and really original, folky music. Too bad they don't play around here more often!

365:281 - Orange Candle

This candle smells yummy.

(Clearly, if I had been paying attention, I would have turned the candle so that the word didn't show. Oh well.)

365:280 - Night Window

Ok, this is a shoddy picture, I know. Here's what happened:
I went to bed.
I fell asleep.
I woke up about 20 minutes later and realized I hadn't taken a photo.
I got out of bed.
It was dark.
This is most light I saw.
I took a picture.
I went back to bed.

365:279 - Washing Machines

Yeah, it's laundry time again. Someday we'll have a washer in our own house, and maybe then I'll take pictures of our clothes drying on the line.

365:278 - Playing with Fire

At the library, we had Staff Development Day, and part of the training we received was to learn how to use a fire extinguisher. Joe and his firefighter friend had to keep re-lighting the fire so that we could each take a trying the extinguisher out.

365:277 - Folding Paper

Sky Lake had its fall festival, so of course we went and joined in the fun. There were some demonstrations and activities, and I stopped to say hello to Carol, who was making Moravian stars out of paper. Carol is so good at so many things...plus, she's just a great person all around! I'm glad to know her.

365:274 - Augie Doggie

I tried to salvage this poor picture I took of Keeneys' dog, but I wasn't as successful as I had hoped. Oh well. I guess some days are like that.

365:273 - Stitching

My sister gave me this pillow as a gift 'cause she knows I like orange. I love the detailed stitching, too.

365:272 - Muir and Johnson

I didn't get to watch all of the PBS series on the National Parks, but I really enjoyed what I did watch.

After watching the first episode, Eric asked me to get some books out of the library about John Muir, who was very influential in the beginning stages of the National Parks.

As we watched a later episode, I noticed that we had set the John Muir books on top of the television, and I managed to snap a shot when Shelton Johnson was on the screen. Johnson is a park ranger with an incredibly beautiful way of expressing his love for the parks and for what they mean to America. His words were as captivating to me as I'm sure Muir's words would have been in his day.

365:271 - Red Frogs

Yes, you're seeing this right. It's a ceramic vase in the shape of three red frogs embracing one another and singing to the skies. It's another relic from my grandparents' house. My sister has the same vase in white, and she gave me this one when I went to visit her.

I know you're jealous.

365:270 - Tim and Christie

My sister and her husband were clearly drawn to each other because they are both so very serious.

365:269 - Raining in Baltimore

Y'all know my love for taking pictures of water droplets and rain. I went to visit my sister and her husband in Baltimore, and it rained quite a bit the one afternoon. As we were driving through the city, I noticed the rain on the car's sunroof, and I couldn't help but snap a few shots of the drops with the tall buildings in the background.

365:262 - Green Conversation

Eric took the lead on organizing a forum for church members to talk and think about how they can operate in a more "green" way and thus preserve God's creation. This was a breakout group talking about solar panels.
