150.365 (Buffalo)

(Tuesday, 30 March 2010) They don’t make kitschy souvenirs like this anymore. This little buffalo easily weighs a pound.

149.365 (Chugging Away)

(Monday, 29 March 2010) Thought I’d use this HO scale Canadian Pacific locomotive for some more practice with the close-up attachment for my Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera.

148.365 (Eco-Palms Sunday)

(Sunday, 28 March 2010) Decided to attend Park Terrace UMC this morning (one of my photos was being shown, after all.) They distributed these Eco-Palms available from Lutheran World Service. The palms were sustainably grown and harvested in Guatemala and the farmers there were given a fare wage for their work.

13//52 (Ross Park)

(Saturday, 27 March 2010) One of the pillars to the former entrance of Ross Park Zoo, in Binghamton, New York.

147.365 (Zoo)

(Saturday, 27 March 2010) One of the pillars to the former entrance of Ross Park Zoo, in Binghamton, New York.

145.365 (Land 230)

(Thursday, 25 March 2010) This Model 230 Land Camera is one of my favorites in my Polaroid collection. I used my other favorite—the SX-70—to capture it on film.

146.365 (SX-70 Accessories)

(Friday, 26 March 2010) My Polaroid SX-70 and a few of the accessories I’ve picked up for it.

144.365 (A Bright Idea)

(Wednesday, 24 March 2010) Once again, the desire to continue my Project 365 won out over creativity.

143.365 (Sweet Dreams)

(Tuesday, 23 March 2010) Before I crawled underneath my beloved Hudson Bay blanket, realized I hadn’t taken a photo yet today. The random joys of working on my Project 365…

142.365 (Renaissance)

(Monday, 22 March 2010) Today was a special day. Not because the ice has almost completely melted off the lake or that it marked the one year anniversary of posting my first photo to Flickr. Rather it was the exciting news that came out of New York: The Impossible Project has successfully reinvented instant integral film! Funny thing is, I didn’t even own a single Polaroid camera when the ice formed on the lake. Today I own fifteen. I am so grateful to have been introduced to this medium and I am even more grateful that The Impossible Project will allow me to indulge in it even more.

141.365 (Falling Bricks)

(Sunday, 21 March 2010) The smokestack is all that remains of the former Agway in Deposit, New York. I heeded the sign.

12//52 (Clinton Square)

(Saturday, 20 March 2010) While I was in Syracuse, thought I'd explore part of the downtown. This is Clinton Square.

140.365 (Niagara Mohawk)

(Saturday, 20 March 2010) The Niagara Mohawk building in downtown Syracuse was recently nominated for placement on the National Register of History Places. It’s a fine testament to the Art Deco style.

139.365 (Middle Gates)

(Friday, 19 March 2010) These stone gates mark off the upper end of the Sky Lake Private Road.

138.365 (Birding)

(Thursday, 18 March 2010) Migrating season has begun, so I keep my trusty Peterson’s Field Guide and binoculars close by for when random birds make a pit stop at my feeders.

137.365 (Road Block)

(Wednesday, 17 March 2010) Most of the snow has melted, but this pile is still holding on. Guess I’ll save the drive around the campground for another day…

136.365 (Spring Diptych)

(Tuesday, 16 March 2010) A couple weeks ago I found a really great deal on a few SX-70 accessories. Today, I tried the close-up attachment for the first time. The afternoon sun was shining pretty brightly on my flowerbed, so I dialed the exposure level down a couple notches. Thought it developed a little darker, so tried the same shot again with the dial centered.

135.365 (Side Street Garage)

(Monday, 15 March 2010) I had intended to shot some photos of an old Endicott-Johnson shoe factory, but this rather colorful garage caught my attention.

134.365 (Grand Central: Chocolate)

(Sunday, 14 March 2010) We arrived back at Grand Central with enough time for me to take a couple exterior shots. Here’s one I took with my Polaroid 230 Land Camera using Chocolate Type 100 film.

133.365 (Rabbits • Hares • Deer)

(Saturday, 13 March 2010) So the Deluge of O-Ten provided us with the perfect excuse to visit the American Museum of Natural History. It was the first opportunity I’ve taken to really use my SX-70 indoors. This one of the “Mammals of New York” exhibit turned out better than most of the others. (There is no such thing as a wasted Polaroid, but I came close with a couple of the shots…)

11//52 (Brunch)

(Saturday, 13 March 2010) Had Saturday morning brunch with some friends at Philip Marie’s in the West Village. We scored a table right by the window, which was perfect for watching people vainly attempting to use umbrellas during the Deluge of O-Ten. After using two frames to get this shot, decided I needed to stop by the International Center of Photography Gift Shop to pick up another pack of ATZ film. I’m glad that a)I was in a city where I could actually find Polaroid film and b)that ICP was on our way Uptown.

132.365 (Grand Central on a Friday Night)

(Friday, 12 March 2010) Arrived at Grand Central tonight to spend the weekend in the Big Apple. Read someplace that the tiles in Grand Central were designed to match human proportions so that it could be busy without feeling crowded or people constantly colliding into one another.

365::78 - glorious harmony

Yeah, I know it's a bit schmaltzy. But the sky's been blue for so many days the past couple of weeks, I just couldn't help it!

365::77 - books are my life

Ok, maybe it's an exaggeration to say that books are my life. I have lots of other things that I love. However, being a librarian, books provide me with a way to earn my living....a way that I really, really enjoy.

(I was going to say more about being a librarian, but I think that if I start in on it, I'll end up on a long rant about how much fun my job is and how important libraries are, and I need to go to bed soon, so I think I'll leave it at that.)

365::76 - dusk's gentle glow

When I got home from work on Wednesday, there was a lovely glow from the sun on the trees a few houses away.

365::74 - love me

On Monday evening, Eric and I went to a study group at church. There were fantastic people there, and we had a discussion that started off by naming some of our strongest doubts and strongest beliefs. One person's beliefs included the idea that deep down, every person just wants to be loved. At many points during the rest of the evening, we kept returning to that idea, as it seemed to touch everything that we talked about.

When we got home that evening, that was at the front of my mind, so I guess this photo is my response to that discussion.

365::73 - you never imagine

Christie is awesome at coming up with random magnetic poetry sentences.

365::72 - laziness is okay

My sister made this sentence, and I thought it fit Eric and Natalie's Saturday afternoon activities.

365::71 - this bee looks like my dad

We spent some time at my parents' home, and my sister and her husband were also there. My sister brought my dad this Pez machine that looks like a bee, and with its glasses and big grin, it bears an eerie resemblance to my father, who is a beekeeper!

It was fantastic to spend time with my family--they're great people, and I'm reminded of it more every time we see them.

365::68 - sunshine

I thought that sunny days were rare in Binghamton, but we've had a rash of them lately. Although I do love the rain, I'm not complaining about the sunshine!

365::65 - got to be fast

Apples to Apples is a fun game.

We got to hang out with some friends and have a delicious dinner (thank you, Mandi and Mike!) and play some games. Good times.

365::64 - we'll be here soon

This is the upstairs hallway of the house we've signed a contract to buy. If all goes according to plan, we'll be living here in a few weeks.

365::61 - an old lighter

Eric found this lighter at a flea market while he was in Kentucky. He likes it 'cause it's got an E on it. He figured out the the USS Frances M. Robinson was used during World War II, and that it got turned into scrap in the 1970s, but we can't figure out what E means. Any ideas?

Eric's mom gave me some money for my birthday that was designated for me to get my 365 photos from 2009 printed out in one form or another. Here are a few of my favorite ones.

131.365 (Composting Class)

(Thursday, 11 March 2010) Tonight was the first class of the Master Composting course that I’m taking with my friend, Eric, at the Broome County Cornell Cooperative Extension. We’re hoping to start a comprehensive composting program at Sky Lake this spring.

Bumped

Be sure to check out Sarah's awesome posts (that my massive stockpile of posts bumped...)

130.365 (Solo)

(Wednesday, 10 March 2010) Decided I would use the last shot of 779 Share the Love Again film left in my Polaroid SX-70. I inadvertently adjusted the light control in the wrong direction, so I worked on my editing skills a bit in Lightoom. The original can be viewed
here.

129.365 (Top Shelf Polaroids)

(Tuesday, 9 March 2010) Some of my growing collection of Paul Giambarba Edition Polaroid film sleeves from PolaPremium/The Impossible Project.

128.365 (At the Carwash)

(Monday, 8 March 2010) Decided my car/mobile photo studio needed to be washed.

127.365 (Eric & Sarah)

(Sunday, 7 March 2010) My friends, Eric and Sarah, were here at camp for director training.

10//52 & 126.365 (Round Barn)

(Saturday, 6 March 2010) One of the round barns along Route 12 in Greene, New York.

125.365 (Autographed Puck)

(Friday, 5 March 2010) A friend was at an event a couple years ago where David Silk (from the 1980 US Men's Hockey team) was signing autographs.

124.365 (Sunset Beyond the Trees)

(Thursday, 4 March 2010) Luckily there are plenty of trees surrounding my house to photograph for those days when I’m not feeling very creative.
