203.365 (The Introverted Turtle)

(Saturday, 22 May 2010) I almost ran over this painted turtle, so I stopped to redirect it. It thanked me by trying to pee on my sneakers—luckily I moved my foot in time.

21//52 (Aunt Jemima)

(Saturday, 22 May 2010) Found this Aunt Jemima cookie jar at a rummage sale today. I bought it for the sole purpose of photographing it.

202.365 (Rebel Without a Cause)

(Friday, 21 May 2010) My dslr hasn’t seen much action lately, other than to model for my Polaroid SX-70 with Fade to Black film in it…

201.365 (Lupine)

(Thursday, 20 May 2010) Some lupines behind my parents’ house.

200.365 (Origins of an Obsession)

(Wednesday, 19 May 2010) 200 days ago I began my Project365 by taking a photo of an old Kodak camera. To celebrate reaching 200 days, I decided to take a photo of another camera, my first Polaroid (an ImpulseAF). I can’t say for certain, but I think this Project365 led me to take up Polaroid photography. It’s an obsession I’ve come to really love.

199.365 (Mapleine)

(Tuesday, 18 May 2010) I found this Mapleine bottle/box in an antique store the other day. I really can’t understand why this method of making fake maple syrup isn’t more popular…

198.365 (Lady's Slipper, PX 100 version)

(Monday, 17 May 2010) The Lady’s Slippers are in full bloom around here. This is the shot I took with PX 100 film in the SX-70.

197.365 (Dandelions)

(Sunday, 16 May 2010) These dandelions on the side of my driveway caught my eye.

20//52 (680)

(Saturday, 15 May 2010) I purchased a Polaroid SLR 680 off eBay this week. It arrived in the mail this afternoon. It’s beautiful.

196.365 (Oncoming)

(Saturday, 15 May 2010) I followed this BNSF train for quite some time today. At one point I waited almost 10 minutes for it to cross a picturesque trestle only to discover there was no film left in the camera! Luckily there were a few more bridges for it to cross—including this one in Sanitaria Springs, New York.

195.365 (Le velo)

(Friday, 14 May 2010) My dad’s bicycle. No ND filter this time, but dialed half a step toward dark. Much better than the first attempt.

194.365 (Escape Route)

(Thursday, 13 May 2010) Back of building in downtown Binghamton, New York. I’ve left the ND filter on the lens of my SX-70 to experiment with this pack of PX 100. I like that lighter objects (i.e. this building, the teapot yesterday) have some contrast rather than getting burned out.

193.365 (Spring Darjeeling)

(Wednesday, 12 May 2010) It was a dreary day in Upstate New York. Perfect excuse to brew some Spring Darjeeling from Adagio Teas.

192.365 (Going Back in Time)

(Tuesday, 11 May 2010) I spotted this antique pocket watch hanging over my dad’s work bench the other day, but saved taking a photo of it for another time. Another time came at 4:44pm today.

191.365 (All Along the Watchtower)

(Monday, 10 May 2010) The watchtower outside the Starruca House (an Erie Railroad station/dining room/ hotel built in the 1860s) in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.

190.365 (Motherly Advice)

(Sunday, 9 May 2010) Surprised my mom with a visit for Mother’s Day. These scissors were sitting on the kitchen counter. She always told me, “don’t run with scissors!” Unfortunately she never said, “don’t use scissors to cut your hair the day before you start first grade.”

189.365 (Tasty Donut)

(Saturday, 8 May 2010) Apparently the donuts weren’t tasty enough. Fortunately for me they left the sign up when they went out of business.

19//52 (Cactus in Bloom)

(Saturday, 8 May 2010) This was my first attempt at using the wet peel technique on Polaroid Fade to Black film.

188.365 (Weinermobile)

(Friday, 7 May 2010) I went for a Pola-venture tonight to get some shots for the last day of Polaroid Week. The Oscar-Meyer Wienermobile was parked in the Town Square Mall parking lot. Couldn’t resist taking a photo of it with my Polaroid Square Shooter 2. Too bad I didn’t get there twenty minutes earlier so there was more light to work with…
