094 - houseplant

Our friends have spices growing in pots by their window.

092 - packed

In getting ready for vacation, Eric's a lot quicker at packing than I am.

Some days I'm uninspired, and I just take a photo of the first thing that catches my eye.

080 - tree with hand

Can you see that the tree is growing out of my hand?!?

I was just playing around with a long exposure (the hand isn't Photoshopped on there).

078 - carnation

078 - carnation

I played around with my pinhole attachment, and it seems that I've got some funk in it. (I cloned it out of this photo.) How is it possible to have funk in a pinhole? Is it an amoeba??

This me trying to make a dull shot interesting by editing it.

075 - basket shadow

This shadow caught my eye.

I hope y'all aren't too bored by two laundry-themed photos in a row.

074 - socks

One of the greatest things about having our own home is that we've got laundry machines in our house. It's SO FANTASTIC not to have to haul all of our stuff to a laundromat to do the laundry.

072 - birthday box

One of the best things about having a birthday is getting a box of awesome stuff in the mail from my sister.

One of the things that I love about our church is that it's a Reconciling Church, meaning that it's one of the relatively few United Methodist Churches that is openly welcoming to people of different sexual orientations. It's good to be part of a congregation that accepts and loves people just as they are.

070 - glass sculpture

Eric and I went to the Corning Museum of Glass, which both of us had visited when we were kids, but neither of us had been there in years. It was incredible. You would think that looking at glass would get old after a while, but they have SO MUCH unbelievable stuff there, including this sculpture above.

067 - paper legs

I have some of my grandmother's paper dolls from when she was a girl. She kept them very carefully between the pages of a Ladies Home Journal. Although they are inanimate objects, each seems to have its own personality.

065 - seeds in the snow

065 - seeds in the snow

Eric put up a bird feeder on our porch, and the squirrels have been wreaking havoc on it. Every once in a while, though, the juncos get to spend some time eating. Either way, they leave behind evidence that someone's had a tasty snack!

064 - map

064 - map

We got an old-looking-but-geographically-accurate-as-of-2010 map to hang on our living room wall. It's kind of awesome, and I've already learned somethings by having it right in front of me.

(I know that this isn't a stellar shot, but I was tired at the end of the day...)

063 - Max

063 - Max

This is a toy version of the character Max from the book Where the Wild Things Are. I put him in our potted plant so that he looked like he was in the island jungle that he visits in the book.

062 - bud

062 - bud

In December I took a photo of a branch that had come off our orchid plant. Check this out--it's got a bud on it!

This is a sure sign that spring will come again...although I hope not TOO soon...I'm still holding out hope for a significant snowstorm!

061 - words

061 - words

As I was driving home, I was listening to a CD of some of my favorite songs. One lyric in particular caught my attention, and I had a perfect image in mind that included magnetic poetry spelling out the lyric. Then I got home and started pawing through my words, and one of the ones I needed was not there. Boo.

So I started alphabetizing my words instead.

060 - Tabasco

060 - Tabasco

In November, a Mexican restaurant opened in our town. I think we've visited Las Chicas Taqueria more often than we've visited all of the other Owego restaurants combined since then.

The inside of the restaurant is a total riot of color--this is just a glimpse!
