In the photo class that Matt and I took, our instructor suggested that we try bracketing. This was a completely new concept to me, so I figured I'd give it a try. I took a correctly-exposed picture of this crow perched in the tree, and then I tried exposing it more than what was recommended by my camera. The trees got kind of blown out, but since the crow was so black, it stayed really dark, and I really like how it turned out.
Then I cropped, softened, and cross-processed this using Picnik.

I love this! Awesome job. It's almost creepy even though it's so bright. Reminds of Edgar Allen Poe.
