365::107 - art
Spool Mfg. is an awesome art space in Johnson City, NY. It's run by some fantastic people.

365::106 - empty
Our shelves are emptying out as we put stuff into boxes in preparation for the move.

365::105 - laugh
We watched a Saturday Night Live special, and I really appreciated seeing some of the old sketches that I enjoyed. I also loved seeing the funny women that I love so much--Tina and Maya and Amy and Kristen are my heroes.

365::104 - chocolate
It is dangerous for me to be alone in the same room as an open bag of M&Ms.

365::100 - sacred light
Clearly, I've been obsessed with sun flare lately. I saw the light glinting off the windows of the Everhart Museum in Scranton, and I just couldn't help myself.

This time the cat cooperated with the flash. (She sure has a lot of whiskers, doesn't she?)

365::98 - summer is soon
Last summer, I became addicted to a little place called Joey's Italian Ice. On this day, Eric came home with a surprise for me--a cup of black raspberry Italian ice! It turned my tongue a crazy color, but it let me know that summer is on its way.

365::95 - more light
Eric took me to the local camera store, and I purchased a flash for my camera. I took a few test shots in the store....as usual, Eric was in direct line of my camera. (He's a good sport.)

365::94 - brightness
Every year at Easter, Eric's grandmother puts kites in our Easter baskets. This year the weather was PERFECT for flying kites. Mine had trouble at first, but Eric's dad engineered it so it'd fly....and there it is, trying to catch the sun.
(I made another stop-motion film with the kites--if you want, you can watch it here.)
365::93 - we need poetry
I gotta be honest - I'm not sure how these words relate to the picture. It was just one of those things...

16//52 (Test Shot #16--Grandma’s Sewing Machine)
(Saturday, 17 April 2010) This is the final image from my two packs of PX 600 test/reject film from The Impossible Project (some packs of the “real” stuff will be on their way shortly!) I removed the ND filter from the lens and dialed the exposure level all the way to dark. I’ve notice this film is a little more sensitive to temperature, so as soon as the photo ejected I did my usual routine of transferring the photo and dark slide to a cold clip (warmed up in advance), but did not stick it under my arm. Getting to experiment with this test/reject film has been a real privilege and a lot of fun.

167.365 (Test Shot #14--Bright Spot on a Dreary Afternoon)
(Friday, 16 April 2010) I do enjoy an occasional rainy afternoon. Fortunately it gave me an excuse to stay inside and order some official PX 600 Silver Shade First Flush from The Impossible Project. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed fooling around with the test/reject version of it these last few days.

166.365 (Test Shot #13--Daffodils)
(Thursday, 15 April 2010) Most of the daffodils outside my house have wilted, but these two were still in full bloom. This is one of my favorite photos I’ve taken with the PX 600 test/reject film from The Impossible Project.

(Tuesday, 13 April 2010) Tonka toys were among my favorites when I was a kid. I recently discovered that Paul Giambarba (of Polaroid design fame) also designed the Tonka logo. He writes about it here.

365::91 - thinking hard
We went to trivia this evening, and I was trying to take a cool photo of the Coca-Cola cup....and failed miserably. However, I noticed that in this shot, I accidentally captured a gentleman from another team thinking hard to come up with one of the answers.

365::90 - ready to go
We stopped at a couple of stores to get some empty boxes so that we can start packing. We haven't got an official closing date yet, but we are raring to go!

365::89 - shimmering
Inspired by this photo, and the photographer's instructions, I thought I'd try it myself with a star shape. I think I made my shape a little too small, though, so it was trickier than I anticipated to get an okay shot. I will definitely be trying again, though!

365::88 - something we have to do
Hopefully this will be one of the last laundromat photos....when we get our house, we'll be able to do our laundry AT HOME.

The reflection of the stairs in the window made this one kind of eerie.

365::86 - Catherine
We had a baby shower for Catherine, Eric's brother's fiancee. She's a sweet, lovely, down-to-earth person, and I'm glad that she'll be an official part of the family soon.

365::85 - share
Our pastor, Steve, invited people who had participated in a book study to his home for dinner. Eric and I went, and we enjoyed spending time with some of the church members--they're a fun and smart and interesting group of people. As talking and laughing went on around the room, I noticed that Eric and Steve were in deep conversation across from me. They're both very passionate about social justice issues, and it made me so glad to see them able to share thoughts and ideas. Isn't it so great when people click?

365::82 - spill
Our cat decided it'd be a good idea to explore one of our shelves. What she didn't realize was that the coin jar at the front of the shelf was not secure. Whoops!

365::80 - life under the leaves
Eric and I went for a walk at a park that used to belong to IBM. It was a beautiful walk...so strange to think that it used to be that you couldn't use the park unless you were an IBM employee or invited by one.

161.365 (Reflection of Photographers)
(Saturday, 10 April 2010) Visited Nay Aug Park while in Scranton with some friends. Eric was kind enough to let Sarah and I fool around with taking some photos of our reflections in his sunglasses.

156.365 (Bright Monday)
(Monday, 5 April 2010) Here’s proof that I still use my dslr. In honor of what is referred to as “Bright Monday” in Eastern Orthodoxy, swung by St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Johnson City, New York. In my opinion, these domes are the most brilliant of the many “onion” domed churches in the Greater Binghamton area.

365::79 - vampire cat
Ok, I know that this is nobody's definition of a great photo, but it made me laugh so hard when I took it that I couldn't help but use it as my picture for the day.

Niagara Falls...
Canadian Horseshoe Falls from our Hotel Room (4-7-10)
And the American Falls...
The sky over the falls on Wednesday Morning (4-7-10)
This is where the Horseshoe Falls should be...The shots above were the only real clear shots I was able to get before all the fog and mist rolled in.
Shot from the Skylon Tower
The Bridal Veil falls which is located right next to the American Falls
Behind the Horseshoe Falls on the Journey behind the falls.
Probably my favorite picture out of 128 pictures I took on our trip. That is the Skylon tower in the distance. This was taken from the highest point on the Niagara Sky Wheel.
Keeping with the theme of the trip this is Thursday Morning's fog from our Hotel Room. (4-8-10)
Again from our hotel room, which was on the 29th floor of the Embassy Suites Fallsview.
