365::61 - an old lighter

Eric found this lighter at a flea market while he was in Kentucky. He likes it 'cause it's got an E on it. He figured out the the USS Frances M. Robinson was used during World War II, and that it got turned into scrap in the 1970s, but we can't figure out what E means. Any ideas?

I believe the E stands for Ensign which is a rank in the Navy, for a junior commissioned office.
