365:272 - Muir and Johnson

I didn't get to watch all of the PBS series on the National Parks, but I really enjoyed what I did watch.

After watching the first episode, Eric asked me to get some books out of the library about John Muir, who was very influential in the beginning stages of the National Parks.

As we watched a later episode, I noticed that we had set the John Muir books on top of the television, and I managed to snap a shot when Shelton Johnson was on the screen. Johnson is a park ranger with an incredibly beautiful way of expressing his love for the parks and for what they mean to America. His words were as captivating to me as I'm sure Muir's words would have been in his day.

Shelton Johnson spoke at the Central Park event. He was great. I like this picture.
