I'm listening to a book on CD in my car (Writing Jane Austen by Elizabeth Aston), and it's a novel about an author who has to finish a fragment of a Jane Austen novel.
I LOVE Jane Austen. She's the ultimate in clever romantic comedy. Pride and Prejudice is my all-time favorite book.
I have thought about this before, but now I'm thinking about it more concretely--I would really like to do a series of photos inspired by Jane Austen's works. I think I need to dive into the books again and then assemble my thoughts....we shall see!

121 - nemesis
These little guys look so cheerful and friendly, but I am sure that they (and all their little friends) will be my downfall.

119 - coffeeshop afternoon
I hung out at the Cyber Cafe this afternoon, waiting for Eric and Russ. I enjoyed this sweet coffee drink and a new library book. It was fantastic.

This guy does seem a little too happy for someone who's behind bars...maybe he's getting out soon?

117 - second hand news
A while ago, I started taking photos to represent lyrics from Fleetwood Mac's album Rumours. I thought I'd try to make another one.
This is from the song "Second Hand News":
I'm just second hand news.
PS - I love my camera's remote!

116 - pinhole snowstorm
It was still light when I got home from work, so I pulled out my pinhole attachment to snap the snow in our backyard.
(For the record, I did not order this snow, but I do revel in it!)

115 - hold on
Driving home, I was listening to The Killers' song (whose name I can't remember right now), and there was a lyric that jumped out at me:
If you can't hold on,
Hold on.
I'm not sure if it's how the songwriter/singers meant it, but I feel like I know of a lot of people who "can't" hold on, but they still do hold on--tough, resilient, brave people.

114 - pinhole dinosaur
I used the pinhole attachment for my camera to take a photo of this tiny plastic dinosaur making the long trek across the desert that is our front room floor.

113 - digging for bugs
We had some friends and their children over to visit this afternoon. It's the first day of spring, and it was sunny enough to be outside for a little while. The girls asked for a jar and went on a search for a bug to capture. It was slim pickings since it's still kind of chilly, but they found one on the side of the house. The hard part was convincing them that it couldn't go home to live in their house.

112 - home
Eric hung up this birdhouse in the fall, so hopefully we'll have some friends move into it in the spring!
111 - displayed
Some of my work was displayed as part of Owego's Third Friday Art Walk. It was my first show, and I was kind of nervous about it.
I got good feedback (although a lot of the people there were friends and family, so that helped!), which was nice. I hope that I get a chance to do this again....I have ideas for making a more cohesive collection of photos and being generally more organized in my preparation.
(Thank you to the Riverow Bookshop and to my sweet husband Eric, who set the show up as a Christmas gift to me.)
107 - tangled
With all of the crazy weather we had over the winter, the Tibetan prayer flags that we had on our porch got tangled up in one of the trees that's near our house
104 - prints
My first show ever will be at the Riverow Bookstore in Owego for part of the Third Friday Art Walk. I've been busy getting things printed, matted, and framed.
103 - night droplets
Well, from the snowstorm we went to rain and melting and rising water. Here's our kitchen window covered with [my favorite] water droplets.
102 - bored
This is another one of my grandmother's paper dolls that I ended up with. This came with a set that suggested that women plan their wardrobe using paper dolls. (I think that's a bit of a stretch, personally.) This lady seemed to be saying, "You bore me more than you can possibly imagine."
101 - under the rug
The cat managed to get her favorite toy wedged under the rug in our front room. I'm not sure who she's trying to hide it from...
100 - berries
The storm we had was so unexpected that Binghamton had a hard time cleaning it up. That's ok, though--it meant that Eric and I had a snow day together! It was beautiful and sunny, so we took the opportunity to wander around downtown. These berries caught my eye--they're in the yard of a house that's a few blocks away from us on Main Street in Owego.
099 - orchid and snow
We got one more snowstorm before the end of winter--just what I wanted! Our orchid doesn't care about the snow, though.
098 - reefer madness
The evening that we got back from vacation, we kind of collapsed in front of the television. Luckily our local Public Access TV station has crazy stuff on Saturday nights - The Dark Vault of Public Domain. The movie Reefer Madness was on, so we caught part of it. That film is mostly insane.
097 - truck on the highway
While we were driving between Vermont and Syracuse, I took some time to play around with my pinhole attachment. I wanted to try to capture the motion of passing this giant white truck.
096 - shoes in the sun
Here are Eric's shoes, resting in the winter sunshine just inside our friends' back door.
