Don't tell anyone, but even after the flood, I still enjoy the rain.

304 - Avett Brothers
We went to see the Avett Brothers at the Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown. It poured rain, but they put on a fantastic show! (Thank you to Anna and Garrett, who loaned us their umbrella so we weren't completely drenched!)

302 - red car
I tore a page out of a book of photos taken for the US's bicentennial, and I used it as the background for this old toy car.
300 - night blur
This really wasn't what I had in mind when I took this shot, but I kind of like it.

296 - skull pajamas
My awesome sister sent me a care package, and inside was a pair of pajama pants with tiny little skulls all over it. Have I mentioned how awesome she is?!?

295 - running water
Throughout this whole flood mess, we have had so many things to be grateful for. One of them is handy friends and family. Eric and one of our friends messed with our hot water heater and got it to work...at least for now!

293 - light
After more than a week without our utilities, our electricity was turned back on today. Hooray!

289 - flood chicken
This chicken was one of the pieces of flotsam that floated into our yard during the flood.
288 - scrubbing
The cleanup begins! Here's Eric scrubbing some of our lawn furniture that was under water in our back yard. (Thankfully our neighbor rescued it from being swept away by the water.)
287 - canoe by the water
I would appreciate this idyllic scene more if it weren't my back yard full of water...
285 - no trucks
As we paddled our canoe between our home and our friends', we encountered a lot of high water.
284 - Susquehanna rising
The evening before the flood, when we had no idea that our home would end up with water, too, we went for a walk downtown to see the river. It's amazing how quickly the Susquehanna turned from a docile river into a raging beast.

282 - fog in the trees
Labor Day was mostly gray, which was fine with me. It was nice to have an excuse to sleep in and relax indoors.

281 - Sarah Lee Guthrie
We went to the Big Splash music festival in Hector, and one of the music groups was Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion. Sarah Lee is the granddaughter of Woody Guthrie and the daughter Arlo Guthrie...so of course she's a musician! Their music was very enjoyable.
280 - campfire
We have not used our fire ring to its full potential this summer. Maybe the fall will be better.

278 - so many words
I sat for about fifteen minutes with my box of magnetic poetry, and I could find no words that would express just what I wanted to say.
