Sonic!

See up here in NY, we get the Sonic commercials because they buy national ad time, but there is not one withing 3 hours of here, because I wanted to see what the buzz was. So upon deciding to go to Kentucky I made it a goal to get to one. I bugged my friends the whole time about making it there. We finally did, the girl brought out the food on roller skates, and while it was worth the novelty. It was like any other fast food joint. I gave it a 6 out of 10.

Hey Y'all, when I was in Kentucky last week. Eric had us help out by picking many many gords out of the gord garden for locals to purchase. Here is a pic of some of them. Taken on Friday, Sepetember 19th.

moonbow

This past week, friends of ours were down to visit and work, and we took the opportunity on Tuesday night to see the moonbow at Cumberland Falls. A moonbow is a rainbow caused at night by the light from the moon hitting the mist from the falls at just the right angle. This picture, although it looks like it's taken during the day, was actually taken at night. One of our friends graciously allowed me to use his tripod, so I set the aperture for f/4.5 and left the shutter open for 30 seconds. I was pretty excited with the result.

Safety Glasses

I know it has been a long time since I have posted, so Sarah bugged me to get going again on it so I am going to try hard to remember to do. I just spent a week down in Kentucky at the Henderson Settlement, helping side a house and visiting Eric and Sarah. Here is a shot of Eric wearing some old old school saftey glasses while making flower tables.

Here's another one that I edited to make it more how I intended it. When we went to Cumberland Falls State Park, there was an area that had been previously used as a beach but was now mostly cement pillars that had been knocked down by the force of the water when the river got high. It felt a little spooky, but the picture I took originally didn't have that feel. When I put it in black and white, though, that feeling came out more.

I took this picture in Fort Worth, Texas, while we were there for the UMC General Conference. I couldn't make the original picture how I wanted it, so I did the best I could and knew that I could crop it later. When I started with cropping in Picnik, however, I got a little carried away. This is what I ended up with.
