I took this picture of Eric's cousin Kenny a couple of summers ago. It's not a perfect picture composition-wise, but I just love the expression on his face!

Ain't Quite Niagra

This is a picture I took of a mini waterfall that was created at Sky Lake after the torrential rains the caused the flooding in June of 2006.

I took this picture standing on the porch roof of the admin building here at Henderson Settlement. I forgot to turn the flash off, and I was mad when it flashed, but this picture turned out way better than the one where I DID turn the flash off. Go figure.

Phanatic

Here's a picture of Christie while she was practicing with her makeup a couple days before her wedding. I really would like to be better at getting good shots of people. This is the best of about twenty that I took--most of them came out poor, what with the flash and the mirror and keeping myself out of the shot and focusing on the right thing!

I Love Endicott

When I woke up today it was nice and sunny, clear blue skies. So I decided to drive around Endicott a bit. A stones throw from my apartment is Round Top park, now I haven't been up there in years but, I did spend much time up there as a youth. This park has excellent views of Endicott and Vestal. The picture is a view of the Susquehanna river, Endicott on the left and Vestal on the right. Enjoy.

Here's a picture that I took as part of an album that I made for Eric at our anniversary. You wouldn't believe how many tries it took to get this shot...most of the pictures didn't even have the dice in them at all! Maybe next time I try this, I'll be able to get the dice in focus instead of the background.

Snap Crackle Pop

I very much enjoy rice krispie treats, so I made them for the youth group we were feeding at the Lake tonight, and I did so with green food coloring, so they look kind of green. Regardless, I thought I would share them with you.

One of my favorite things to do is to go on Wine Tours of the Finger Lakes. This is one of my favorite photos from Seneca Lake. Of one of the many vineyards.

One evening during a lightning storm, Eric suggested that we try to take some pictures of the lightning. I set our camera on the "fireworks" setting, and I just kept clicking away. I got lucky with this one! Taken May 30, 2006.

trying something new

Kevin and I were talking on the IM this evening, and we both decided we'd like to motivate ourselves to take better pictures. We thought we'd try this blog so that we could share our photos and maybe even try to take one picture each day that was worth sharing with the world. We'll see how it goes!
