365:329 - Spinning

Eric got our 45rpm record player back today from the guy who fixed it, so we're listening to singles this evening.

365:282 - Paul's Grandfather

Paul's Grandfather is the name of a musical group that we went to see at Binghamton University. We had seen them once before (at Spool MFG), and we really enjoy their music. They have fantastic voices and really original, folky music. Too bad they don't play around here more often!

365:220 - Small Town Parade Band

Eric had to work at Newark Valley Days, so Abby and I went to visit him and take in the delights of the parade. I have always been amused and intrigued by the floats that are full of senior citizens in uniform (costume?) playing marching music.

365:213 - Jackson Browne

Eric and I went with his mom and his aunt to see Jackson Browne. I'm not really familiar with most of his music, but he sang some songs from his newest album, and I think this was my favorite line: "You were the laughter I was listening to, standing in the light."

365:9 - Mix Tapes

Here are the mix tapes that Eric and I made for each other while we were dating. We were going to colleges that were six hours apart, so in between the random weekends that we got to spend together, the songs on these tapes were able to express what we weren't able to say to each other in person because of the distance.

365:7 - Stereo

This record player used to belong to my great-grandparents. It has an amazing fold-out turntable and (as you can see) a fantastic color scheme.

Finally, after a year and a half, we can actually listen to the giant pile of vinyl that Eric has been accumulating.

365:6 - Eric's Hands

My sweet husband loves his music, so when his latest cd purchase arrived in the mail (a limited edition reissue of a Death Cab for Cutie album), he devoured the liner notes.
